This Privacy Policy explains how P D Gardiner ("we," "us," "our")
collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Kitchen Passport
mobile application ("the App").
Information we collect
We collect only what the App needs to function:
Account information — your email address, either directly or via Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. If you use Sign in with Apple, you may choose to share a private relay address instead of your real one.
Purchase and entitlement status — whether you have purchased lifetime access, managed through Apple's App Store or Google Play and our payments provider, RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your card details; Apple and Google handle payment directly.
Your saved content — recipes you add to Favourites, items on your Shopping List, and your metric/imperial unit preference.
Recipe search activity — the filters you search with (main ingredient, country, course, and so on), used to generate and serve recipes, prevent abuse of the AI generation feature, and enforce fair-use limits.
Reports you submit — if you flag a recipe using the "Report an issue" feature, we record the recipe, your account, the reason given, and the time submitted.
We do not use advertising SDKs and do not sell or share your
information for third-party advertising or tracking purposes.
How we use this information
To provide the App's core features — generating and serving recipes, saving your Favourites and Shopping List, and confirming your purchase entitlement.
To prevent abuse of the AI recipe-generation system, including enforcing per-account usage limits.
To respond to reports and, where necessary, moderate content.
To communicate with you about your account or respond to support requests.
Who we share it with
We use the following service providers, each of which processes data only as needed to provide their specific service to us:
Supabase — our database, authentication, and file storage provider.
Anthropic — processes your search filters to generate recipe text (title, ingredients, steps). Anthropic does not receive your account email or payment information.
Fal.ai — processes recipe descriptions to generate the finished-dish photo shown with each recipe.
RevenueCat — manages your purchase and entitlement status across devices.
Apple and Google — process your in-app purchase and, if used, your Sign in with Apple/Google authentication.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you
delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a
reasonable period, except where we're required to retain certain records
by law (for example, transaction records for tax purposes).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct,
export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain
processing (for example, under the GDPR if you're in the UK/EU, or the
CCPA if you're a California resident). You can request any of these by
contacting us — an in-app account deletion option is
also planned.
Children's privacy
Kitchen Passport is not directed at children under 13, and we do not
knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you
believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact
us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including
encrypted connections and access controls that restrict your data to your
own account. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we
work to protect your information appropriately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material
changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where
appropriate, notify you in the App.
